We are discussing privacy in class.  Do you feel that our right to privacy is in jeopardy or do you feel like it is well protected?  Use the article in your answer to the question.

Read about the recent case of Cece McDonald's murder trial in the local newspaper City Pages.  Afterwards answer the following questions:

- Do you think the facts of the case help McDonald or the prosecution more?
- Do you think McDonald would have gotten a fair trial?
- Do you agree with her decision to take a plea deal of 2nd degree manslaughter?

Monday, May 7th Two weeks ago the US Supreme Court heard oral arguments on the controversial Arizona immigration law referred to as SB1070. We won't know until this summer what the Court will rule but many are trying to predict what the Court will say. Read the article from the Washington Post and write a paragraph summarizing your opinion on the law and what you think the Supreme Court should do.

Monday, April 23 Read the article from the LA Times on the activists suing over the NDAA. Do you think the NDAA is or is not Constitutional? Are you concerned with the NDAA giving these new powers to the president? Why or why not?

Read the article Alleged Cole Bomber's Testimony Could Be Secret from National Public Radio and answer the following questions:

1. What are the arguments FOR having this testimony in secret?

2. What are the arguments AGAINST having this testimony in secret?

3. What is your opinion - should his testimony be in secret? Why or why not? (please write a paragraph to support your opinion)

Welcome back from Spring Break! While you were out having fun the Supreme Court was making new rulings. Read about their recent decision on strip searches in jail in Florence vs. Board of Chosen Freeholders of Burlington County and then answer the following questions on in your blog post:

1. Summarize the basic facts of the case.

2. What did the Supreme Court rule?

3. Do you agree or disagree with their decision? Why or why not?

Read the article Do Juvenile Killer Deserve Life Behind Bars? about the cases the U.S. Supreme Court is considering. Then answer the following questions:

1. Should juveniles be treated differently from adults if they commit murder? Why or why not? Or in what situations?
