1. What are the arguments FOR having this testimony in secret?
There are things that the CIA needs to keep secret and there could also be details about the case that ordinary people shouldn't or don't need to know.
2. What are the arguments AGAINST having this testimony in secret?
Some are against the idea of a secret testimony because a lot of details of the case are already out in the open. Also what he has to say are things that the CIA have done to him and the defense believes people should know what is going on under our noses.
3. What is your opinion - should his testimony be in secret? Why or why not? (please write a paragraph to support your opinion)
I feel like his testimony should be secret. This is between him and the CIA. He committed a crime and he paid for it. What the CIA does or did to him is between those two parties. There are some things in life that although we are curious about, we don't need the answers. It should only be those involved with his case that need to hear all the details of his testimony.
1. The high likelihood that classified information will be revealed.
2. Most of his testimony has already been publicized and so there is no need for a closed testimony and also he has nothing to say about classified information.
3. I think this testimony should be in secret because there are certain things that he might not know are classified information that could turn out to be very valuable. And also when it comes to classified information you really can't trust people and so in order to be safe to make sure that he doesn't actually say anything classified it's just easier to have a closed testimony.
1. What are the arguments FOR having this testimony in secret?
The government says that Al-Nashiri might say something that could potentially put people at risk, and that he might reveal secrets that need to be kept secret for safety measures.
2. What are the arguments AGAINST having this testimony in secret?
The defense says that the government is just trying to keep quiet what really happened to him to protect themselves, and that the 40 sec delay allows for white noise to cover anything that is said that concerns the safety of others.
3. What is your opinion - should his testimony be in secret? Why or why not? (please write a paragraph to support your opinion)
I think that the testimony should be kept in secret. I think that since there is a possibility of Al-Nashiri saying something that could be a potential risk, and that the risk of that is greater than the possibility that what he would say would show horrors of what the government did him. I also think that since it is a government case and trial, the testimony should be kept secret in order to protect others concerned in this case, as well as those who could be affected by any secrets that Al-Nashiri could reveal.
1. What are the arguments FOR having this testimony in secret? He is a criminal and we know he knows the intel that we are looking for.
2. What are the arguments AGAINST having this testimony in secret? The is against the constitution and he must be put on trial and not having to use waterboarding on him
3. What is your opinion - should his testimony be in secret? Why or why not? Well if it is a secret than no one will find out but in this case it is not the CIA should to a better job keeping this stuff a secret.
The argument for is that possibly dangerous information that could be divulged during the trial.
The argument against is that this makes the case not open and inhibits certain testimony.
I think that the case should be open.
1. What are the arguments FOR having this testimony in secret?
-Just in case he says anything that people wouldn't like or are inappropriate. Also if any laws are broken and just seeing him walking around and not in hand cuffs.
2. What are the arguments AGAINST having this testimony in secret?
-That the people everywhere can't see what he says. Also the people that it personally affected don't get to see what he said.
3. What is your opinion - should his testimony be in secret? Why or why not? (please write a paragraph to support your opinion)
-I think that they shouldn't keep it a secret because it's the people's right to know what the bomber is saying about what he did, It also affected many people and they should be able to know what he has to say about it.
1. What are the arguments FOR having this testimony in secret?
-They want to keep the secrets of the CIA or if he says something that they don't like. If the some of the secrets of the CIA got out, it probably would be bad.
2. What are the arguments AGAINST having this testimony in secret?
-It's his right to be able to have it public. Also it should be the same as seing any other trial so soemone could go into a courtroom in any city just the same as they should be able walk into a criminal trial. His relatives or friends wouldn't get to see it either.
3. What is your opinion - should his testimony be in secret? Why or why not? (please write a paragraph to support your opinion)
-I think that it should be a secret but only to a point. They should allow only certain people to see it and not the media or anything. The relatives or friends should be able to see what's happening because it is kind of affecting them and they should know what is the outcome. So I don't think anyone should just be able to walk into the trial but allow certain people to be able to go into the trial.

1. What are the arguments FOR having this testimony in secret?
It will protect the United States from having any top secret information reveled, and would protect the US from having details about CIA interrogations revealed, which could essentially be embarrassing to the government.
2. What are the arguments AGAINST having this testimony in secret?
It is all public information, the government shouldn't be keeping such secrets from the public. The trial could be unfair.
3. What is your opinion - should his testimony be in secret? Why or why not? (please write a paragraph to support your opinion)
I don't think that his testimony should be secret. As United States citizens we have the right to know what goes on in the Federal prisons. If they aren't doing anything wrong there, there should be nothing to hide. If it were public the trial would be more fair, and just.
1. What are the arguments FOR having this testimony in secret?
That the things that will be said for both sides might give away government secrets and might leak classified information.
2. What are the arguments AGAINST having this testimony in secret?
The arguments for the prosecutor is that we already know some of the information revealed and that if we don't hear what Al-Nashiri's testimony out in the open it might be different and important information that people want to hear might be covered up and the truth will never be revealed.
3. What is your opinion - should his testimony be in secret? Why or why not? (please write a paragraph to support your opinion)
I believe that the testimony should be heard by the news because of some of the crimes that could've been committed are revealed. People have the right to hear want this man has to say even if he is a terrorist. If we don't hear these problems then how can we ever fix them.
1. What are the arguments FOR having this testimony in secret?
They want to keep the things the CIA has a secret from the public. They don't want anyone knowing where he is or what he's doing.
2. What are the arguments AGAINST having this testimony in secret?
People need to know what is going on with this and they need to know whats going on in our world. They can't do things to people and have it be a secret.
3. What is your opinion - should his testimony be in secret? Why or why not? (please write a paragraph to support your opinion)
I think that the testimony should be in secret because there are certain things that the public doesn't need to know about and certain things I don't want to know about. If they can't talk about everything, then why have the trial not be a secret. they won't determine anything if they don't know anything
1. The arguments for having this session in secret is that things may be said that would reveal secrets of the American millitary that enemies may use against the U.S. That the defense may even purposefully say something that the military needs to keep confidential to keep peace.
2.The Arguments against are that the people need to hear the truth and that the defense shouldnt be silenced. Rights of the defense must be protected, as the the defense wants.
3. Yes the testimony should be kept a secret, because honestly the protection of the U.S (by a long shot) out way any rights and privaleges that any terrorist could have. If one is accused of being a terrorist and indangering the lives of Americans then their rights and or wants mean almost nothing. People may want to hear the truth, but if you were to ask someone which would u rather prefer, to have everyone hear the truth and by doing so endangering many American armed forces that are in positions that could cost their lives, or not hearing the truth and keeping the people that protect our country safe and leaving a person who's intent was to endanger the lives of americans to the hands of the court; the decision should be clear, American protection over enemy rights. Allowing this man to say what he wants about the military to an open crowed is like letting a man blow up a house of people and after that willingly giving him a gun to assassinate the families of those in the house.
